Mom

Lisa Ann Steiner

In early 2007, Lisa Steiner was stopped at a red light after picking up refreshments for her daughter, Kaitlyn’s, soccer team when a driver rear-ended her vehicle at 40 mph. Following a variety of imaging tests within the next couple of months, the doctors found something unrelated to the car accident. The doctors decided to perform a colonoscopy and found numerous tumors within her colon. This resulted in her requiring to have surgery to remove 6 feet of her colon, attend radiation treatments, and receive chemotherapy. She was out of work as a secretary for about a year due to the heavy task of attending doctors appointments and receiving radiation/chemotherapy. She returned to work in April 2008 and on her very first day back she experienced a seizure. In April 2008, it was confirmed that the cancer spread and Lisa Steiner was diagnosed with Stage IV terminal brain cancer at the age of 42. The doctors gave her a prognosis of 4-6 weeks. Determined as she was, she did not give up and made the best of every moment. She was a fighter and never gave up until she was called to heaven on September 21st, 2008. We continue to miss her every day, and she will be in our hearts forever. She was generous, kind, and caring to the people around her and always carried a big smile. She worked hard in everything she did and loved her family. You are dearly missed, Momma. I love you.
