Kellen had just finished college and was in his first year teaching high school math when he was diagnosed in 2017. Somehow he managed to keep a positive outlook and only looked forward to getting on with his life. His motto, a math reference, f(x)=|x| Avoid Negativity was used on t-shirts his school used for a benefit they put on for him. He currently teaches Geometry and coaches tennis and plays golf any chance he gets.
