Karen is an amazing support and caregiver to her husband Steve who is a Survivor, to many North Texas Survivors, Caregivers, and all those who attend Grey Matters, which she was instrumental in establishing as a way for Caregivers and Survivors to find information, support, and community. Karen is an advocate and friend to all she meets. Karen is so giving of her time especially to those newly diagnosed and who have so many questions and concerns. I first met Karen when I was first diagnosed and her daughter was the counselor at my boys’ school. Karen was so sweet to talk to my mom offer her hugs and encouragement. Karen and Steve are big advocates of all types of research and raising awareness of new treatments that are being tested. She regularly brings speakers to our Grey Matters meetings to discuss these new options. Karen is special in so many ways that I feel overwhelmed trying to put them into words.
