Jim’s journey started January 15, 2015 when he suffered a seizure while driving. He was so lucky that his car simply veered off the road and came to a stop. After surgery in February 2015 and undergoing chemo and radiation, he became one of the first people in Austin to use the Optune device and was even featured on KEYE hoping to show others what new treatments were available for treating brain cancer. In November 2015, there was evidence that the tumor had recurred, so he enrolled in a clinical trial for a short period of time, had another surgery on February 4, 2016, and is now participating in a second clinical trial. Throughout this journey, he has never lost his humor and positive spirit. Last year he participated in his first Head for the Cure 5K just five weeks after his surgery, and he is participating again this year not even two months after his most recent surgery. He is truly an inspiration to us all!
