Grassroots Fundraising: Grassroots Events
Bring fundraising to you by planning local community fundraisers.
Jeans Day – Speak with your employer about hosting a series of jeans day at work. Coworkers can have the option to wear jeans by paying a set amount of money that is donated to Head for the Cure. We suggest $1 if you’re able to do a series of days or $5 for one Jeans Day.
Giveback Nights – Do you frequent a restaurant or retail store? Many locations will host a giveback opportunity taking a percentage of their sales during a specific time and will donate those to a charity of your choice. Head for the Cure can help market the event for maximum participation.
Questions to Ask
- In order to receive the discount, do the guests have to provide a flyer or mention Head for the Cure?
- Are there any regulations we need to follow to market the event?
- Does there have to be a representative during the event?
Make your next Block Party a fundraiser – Invite neighbors to join you for a fun evening and host a raffle, ask for donations or do a live/silent auction where funds are donated to Head for the Cure.
Other Events – Any event that you host throughout the year can easily be turned into a fundraiser. To brainstorm how to turn your next event into a fundraiser, check out our Community-Driven Events Guide or contact info@headforthecure.org.
