He is not only an exemplary neurosurgeon leading the way in cutting-edge neuro and spinal surgery techniques, but he is also one of the kindest physicians I have ever met. Dr. Tumu goes above and beyond for his patients and their families to build trust and confidence. He is compassionate, a great listener, has a caring bedside manner and has personally called patients by cell phone to check on them during their at-home recovery. He is conservative to recommend surgery and sure to provide all options available to guide patients in the best possible surgical and nonsurgical outcomes. It is important to Dr. Tumu that patients and their families feel confident about their healthcare decisions and understand the risk-to-benefit ratio.
