Over the last four years, my Family and I Have been fighting against a rare type of cancer that Impacted the dura layer of my brain. Dr. Rauf and her fantastic team have been the coordinators of my treatment planning since the summer of 2021. We have experienced and overcome obstacles that we never thought we could handle. Dr. Rauf was always upfront with us about each treatment and the risks and benefits of each, delivering both the good news and challenging news with a level of empathy that is rare to see in many clinicians today. Although the statistics for surviving the type of cancer I had were not positive, we have far surpassed the mortality data originally shared with us. This is due to the positive mindset that Dr. Rauf and I discuss in every meeting. Cancer is not a battle we would choose, but cancer is also not a battle that we will lose. We are so fortunate that she leads our care team; she is always available to us, and we consider her part of our family.
