My mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor on April Fools day 2013. I have worked in the healthcare field for almost 5 years and have seen families dealing with illnesses before, but I never imagined to one day go through the same thing myself. Of course her diagnosis came as a surprise and by having such a big loving family got her and everyone else to where she is today. She completed her last round of chemo just a couple weeks ago and so far everything has gone well. I never known anyone personally who has fought through a cancer diagnosis and treatment so well. Every time I’ve been around her she has always been positive. I have always looked up to her as a mom, but now I look up to her even more as a role model. She has shown me that you can get through anything, no matter how scary it might be.
