In 2012, our son Craig, at age 15, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma brain tumor. After 18 months of aggressive treatment with radiation, chemotherapy, occupational and physical therapy, and numerous prayers, Craig was given good news that he was cancer free. Even though treatment has been over for five years, disabilities from the tumor and treatment still present daily challenges. With faith and determination, support from family and friends, Craig has overcome many adversities and is an inspiration to us. He continues his college education at WSU, majoring in Geology, while working part time at the zoo. He recently celebrated his 22nd birthday and we are thankful for each day we are given, for the Lord is our strength and we trust that the He walks with us on this journey. As in this race today, we do not walk or run alone. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” Isaiah 43:2-3 NIV
