On November 6, 2018, our warrior, Dave Jarrett, received an MRI after displaying some unusual behavior. He was later diagnosed with Grade 4, Glioblastoma. He underwent emergency surgery to remove 70% of the tumor. Extensive seizure activity after surgery resulted in a collapsed lung and he was placed on life support for multiple days. He then underwent extensive rehab and was released after spending 31 days in the hospital. Six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation followed. In August, Dave had two brain surgeries within a week due to a recurrence. In October, he had his fourth brain surgery within a year to install a brain shunt. Currently Dave is participating in a clinical trial at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Despite all of the treatments he has endured, Dave has remained consistently optimistic throughout this journey and never complains. Everyone that meets Dave is constantly amazed at his tenacious spirit, positive attitude, and determination to beat the odds. He is faithful that he will beat this monster called GBM.
