David

Dewar

Dr. David Dewar was diagnosed 3/23/18 with grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. In a matter of seconds, a neonatologist who has saved so many tiny newborns, was now in the fight for his own life. With calm and clarity, Dave has accepted the challenge. And with his wife Amy and two children, Gabe (7), and Evie (4) by his side, Dave strives to make LIVING with brain cancer an art form. He takes the gift of perspective and applies it daily. Every experience with Dave is brighter, funnier, and more colorful. Blessed with no neurodeficits, Dave is still able to take care of children and does so with a compassion and empathy only one who bares a scar of life threatening injury could express. Despite others judging his Optune and projecting their own fears of death on what they believe to be his prognosis, Dave continues to push forward. He has declared- “I am not done yet. This is not what will end me… the wife maybe ;)… but never this.” STRONG WORK DR. DEWAR. You are a true hero.
