My wife, Iris Ruvalcaba, works for UC San Diego Health at the Rancho Bernardo Clinic. She works as a PSR, but her career at UC San Diego started as a custodian for the EVS department at this same clinic. My wife is a very inspirational person. She could have chosen to do anything in the world, especially after her diagnosis and treatment, but she chose to work for UC San Diego Health in any position. She was inspired to work there to foster the same care and services that she received during her stay at Moores Cancer Center.

Iris’s strength, perseverance, and gratitude continue to inspire everyone around her. She turned a life-changing experience into an opportunity to give back and provide the same compassion and care to others that she received during her own journey. We are so proud of her.
