Keeping the Faith

After a stroke like event on 3/11/2024, my mom was diagnosed with an inoperable GBM tumor. After completing her SOC treatment, she decided to shave her head to begin using Optune. As a proud Blue Light Warrior, she has maintained a 94% monthly usage and completed 8 rounds of chemo, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to fighting this cancer. Despite facing deficits, she lives her life one day at a time with incredible positivity and resilience, inspiring everyone she knows. It’s hard to believe a year has passed but we’ve had great MRIs with shrinking tumors. She is slowly finding her way back to the things she loves — crocheting, reading, cooking, and attending UT Longhorn baseball games, where she’s been a ticket holder for 30+ years. I am incredibly proud to call her my mom. Her strength, determination, and unshakable positive spirit are a testament to how we should all strive to live our lives. Her journey makes her truly deserving of the ‘Keeping the Faith’ award.
