John Drage is a husband, father, pastor, son, brother, athlete, and friend to many! For the past 28 years, John has faithfully served the Columbia community through campus ministry. Since 2000, John has pastored The Rock Campus Church, which led to three different church plants across the country in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Fort Collins. He has walked with students through major life changes, career decisions, difficult times, etc. He has touched the lives of thousands upon thousands of students not only in Columbia but also across the country and around the world. To put it best, one of John’s friends said, “He has been a pillar in the faith of so many people and his walk on this journey will continue to draw people to Jesus.” He has led countless mission trips for college students to Honduras, directed a summer leadership training program for college students in Colorado for 16 years, served on the board for Collegiate Churches for 8 years, and became the National, Regional, and Church Coach for Collegiate Leadership Training Programs. As if that isn’t enough, John also completed an Ironman Triathlon in 2017. On February 20, 2019, John was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. Even though the news has been life-changing and devastating for him, along with his family and friends, he is using this journey to share his faith through daily blog posts and videos that are inspiring, encouraging, and touching people all around the world. His hope is that through sharing his journey, God would have something special He wants to share with others, too. As John said recently, “Even though my future with living or dying is very uncertain, we have a good God who loves us very much. Even though we don’t know the plan, He has a plan. Even though we can’t always feel the strength, He gives us the strength.” John’s love for God and love for others is unmatched and unwavering. John is the epitome of what it means to Keep The Faith. Because of his faith, many others have faith, too!
