In 2011, Julissa was diagnosed with a brain stem glioma after her family became concerned with her frequent falls and slurred speech.

The devastating news was replaced with a fighting spirit and a determination to defeat this challenge. She was at the inaugural Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas, celebrating the milestone of completing her first round of radiation and chemotherapy. 

With the support of her family, Julissa had incredible strength and kept the faith.

Julissa passed away on 2/6/2013. Her family and friends continue to show their support on Team Julissa’s Rainbows.
