Mark is a stage 4 GBM survivor, diagnosed Dec 29, 2010. Since that time, he has played a leading role in Brain Cancer Awareness. He has spoken during MUSC Brain Tumor board meetings, kicked off Brain Tumor Awareness Month, given interviews via television and newspapers. He even dressed as a sumo wrestler for between innings entertainment during a Brain Tumor Awareness night at a River dogs game. He is willing to do anything ever asked of him to promote awareness, raise funding, and most importantly, serve as a beacon of hope and life for other warriors. During this battle, he has always put his family first. He is an amazing father and a wonderful husband. Mark had never asked “Why me?” His statement is always a resounding “”Why not me?”
