Matt Chandler is the lead pastor of The Village Church. A gifted speaker, he led everyone in a blessing before the inaugural Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas.

His very public battle with a grade 3 oligodendroglioma started when he collapsed in front of his three children on Thanksgiving morning 2009, and he continues it today as a living, breathing sermon teaching others about God’s love first, suffering well and having joy in the toughest of circumstances. Matt is nearing completion of 18 months of radiation and chemotherapy that followed his surgery in December 2009.

He continues to preach weekly at The Village Church and has traveled several times overseas as a representative for his church. Matt has fought this disease with grace, dignity and immense faith, even thanking God that he was worthy to endure such a trial. His fortitude is immeasurable, and he continues to Keep the Faith.
