Melanie Sweeney was diagnosed with her first brain tumor at age 6. That was 38 years ago.

She continued to battle brain tumors throughout her life, but she did not let it get in the way of living. She got married and adopted two sons from South Korea, and she never lost her faith and trust in God and as she said on her CaringBridge page, “I don’t know how long I will live, but I do know that it is for a purpose and have nothing to fear.”

Melanie lost her battle just a few weeks ago on April 17th, but her grace and her legacy live on. Her two sons, Elijah and Caleb, and her husband Joe were at the inaugural Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas to accept this award on her behalf. They continue to Keep the Faith.
