Michael was 4 years old when diagnosed with a very rare tumor on his brain stem. Due to the tumor’s location, Michael struggled with Hydrocephalus. This battle took him through 3 separate surgeries to relieve the pressure in his skull. The severe hydrocephalus caused him to lose the majority of his fine and gross motor skills. He has used karate and soccer to help him relearn how to walk and write. Through everything, he remains the kindest and most thoughtful kid in his class. He is always looking for a way to help someone or brighten their day. Michael makes friends with everyone and will always leave you with a smile on your face. Michael’s tumor is very rare with only 200 known cases. At this time, he is on a watch and wait protocol. This means he has to live with his brain tumor under surveillance.
