Shortly after earning his Master’s Degree, Nate’s 11 month career as a mental health counselor was abruptly interrupted the week before Thanksgiving in 2025. What he initially thought were migraine headaches eventually proved to be a malignant brain tumor.

After surgery, Nate endured six weeks of radiation treatment, multiple rounds of still ongoing chemotherapy, and the postponement of his scheduled wedding in April of 2026. In spite of those hardships Nate maintains his gentle spirit and commitment to helping others, and begins the next chapter of his professional career as an EAP counselor in late July 2026. Nate is dearly loved and greatly respected by family, friends and colleagues.
