Watching your 7-week-old son fight for his life changes you forever. What we thought was reflux quickly became every parent’s worst nightmare when Nate was diagnosed with a rare choroid plexus brain tumor causing life-threatening hydrocephalus. Our world became emergency brain surgery, long days in the PICU at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and endless uncertainty.

Thanks to the incredible neurosurgery and neuro-oncology teams at CHOP, Nate’s tumor was completely removed, and today he is officially brain tumor free. Through it all, he never stopped smiling.

This year, Nate is serving as an ambassador for the CHOP Parkway Run, helping us raise funds so more children can receive the same lifesaving care and research that gave our son his future. Nate’s story is proof that hope, expert care, and brain tumor research save children’s lives.
