It was Jan 2023 when I began noticing my husband’s memory was fading & he was becoming increasingly irritable. Unbeknownst to me, he began forgetting how to get home from work & also how to type. In Feb he was involved in a car accident that we later learned was a result of left peripheral vision loss. At the ER we discovered that he didn’t even know the year. A CT revealed a 6cm brain tumor & based on the imaging and symptoms, was suspected to be a glioma with a poor outcome. It was a terrifying time as we were unsure if he would survive and also if we could continue to parent our then 3 year old foster twins. By the grace of God, a rare fibrous tumor was found instead & the prognosis was significantly better. After healing from brain surgery, RC underwent 12 wks of radiation. Since then, his peripheral vision and memory has been almost completely restored. I am forever grateful to the oncology team at WashU. They gave me my husband back & my kids their forever dad.
