I’m 24 years old and a nurse (on the right), and I got diagnosed with a grade 4 tumor called DMG. I went to the ER twice and was misdiagnosed with a migraine and Bell’s palsy. The did a CT scan the first visit and my tumor was present at that time but it was read wrong and they sent me home. I went to the ER a third time and got admitted for a brain mass. I got transferred to UT Southwestern for better care and got a biopsy done 9/8. Results came back 9/26 with DMG, a mostly pediatric cancer. Grade 4 and incurable. I did 6 weeks of radiation M-F with chemo, and currently on Modesyo and Avastin. With brain cancer research, my treatment for my exact tumor is possible and I would not be getting it or it be possible without my doctors and the people who are supporting me and people who supported brain cancer research!
