Shannon O’Brien of Tacoma, Washington, actively battled primary brain cancer for 18 years, although we later learned Shannon was actually born with brain tumor/cancer as a result of a 1967 x ray to my pregnant with twins belly Shannon and Sean, making Shannon a 44 year survivor of brain cancer at the time of her death in 2012. As a well known brain cancer patient, Shannon treated locally in Seattle, and traveled all over the country for consult, and treatment. She underwent four brain surgeries, radiation therapy twice, multiple chemotherapy agents, plus a promising dendritic cell vaccine made from her own tumor tissue.
