Legacy of Love

Benjamin Ryan

& Friends

In July 2023, during the 10th Annual Head for the Cure 5K – Omaha, we had the profound honor of presenting the Benjamin Ryan Legacy of Love Award to his beloved family and friends. Benjamin Ryan was just 11 years old when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, yet his spirit and determination inspired a remarkable outpouring of support. Over 100 friends and family members gathered to cheer him on at his first Head for the Cure race. Ben’s relentless “never quit” attitude galvanized his team, who continue to rally for the Head for the Cure 5K every year, even after he passed away. Though Ben is no longer with us, his Legacy of Love lives on, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him. This award celebrates Ben’s boundless energy, kindness, and joyful spirit. It honors caregivers for their love and unwavering support of those facing the brain cancer journey, ensuring that Ben’s legacy of love, strength, and community endures.
