Legacy of Love

Stewart, Mancebo, Melillo Families

Some people think growing up with parents in different parts of the country might be hard or complicated. Those people probably never got diagnosed with brain cancer, and they definitely never met my families. When I was diagnosed with a GBM nearly five and a half years ago, I woke up to multiple moms, dads, sisters, and brothers filling the hospital room and the hearts of my wife and me. Every single day since then, they have all been a constant force of love and support, on good days and bad. The way they do it is truly special. If you watched us all interact from afar, you would think we shared the same blood or at least the same name. In these families, that kind of thing doesn’t matter. What matters is being there for each other, and nobody does it like us. It is my absolute pleasure to nominate the Stewart, Mancebo, and Melillo families for the Legacy of Love because they truly exemplify it.
