I am nominating Eamonn and Trish Forbes for the Legacy of Love Award. Eamonn was 2 years old and pushed in a stroller the first year that he participated in the Detroit HFTC Event. Less than 4 months later, on Christmas morning 2016, his dad passed away from glioblastoma leaving a heart-broken family and myriad of friends. Loss of a spouse at a young age and having a small son was both unexpected and life-altering. Trish displayed amazing strength throughout Andy’s challenges and continued to raise Eamonn surrounded by the love of both her family and Andy’s family. Trish has been steadfastly committed to making sure that Andy’s legacy continues. In addition to sharing memories, stories and photos, part of that legacy has included yearly participation in the Detroit HFTC event in honor of Andy. Now 11, this is Eamonn’s 10th year to participate and he is now the official co-captain of Andy’s Warriors! We are all very proud of Trish and Eamonn – just as Andy would be.
