Kayden is a 7 year old now. But at the time Nana’s cancer was found he was 5. He worked hard to help make new Christmas ornaments for her when she came home Christmas eve.
He would still tell her about his dance classes and how his teacher said he could try out to be in the nutcracker. He would get her to come out and play even if it meant just holding his toys. Every trip to the store he asked “can we buy flowers for Nana, she likes them.”
He saw the change in her but he only loved her harder. As a little boy he was at the whim of what us adults could do, but he asked “can she come to my showcase, can she watch me dance, can I still sit on her lap.”
As she got sicker he asked what he could do. We would say keep being you, keep giving hugs, keep giving kisses, keep telling her about dance. Kayden is now going into 2nd grade and reminds those around him about the love she showed in life!
