Her Family

My mom, Patricia, is the most selfless person I know. There is no one more deserving of recognition for the countless ways she dedicates herself to the people she loves. She is the mother to her four grown children and their spouses, and the proud “Grammie” to six grandchildren, all of whom she loves fiercely.

Even before my brother’s diagnosis, she dedicated her life to guiding, supporting, and above all, loving her family. She has always been the first to arrive in times of need-whether its to offer a comforting shoulder, assist with projects around the house, provide childcare at a moments notice, or offer financial support. She gives continuously and without hesitation, never asking for anything in return. To all who know her, it is clear that her greatest purpose is caring for her children and grandchildren.

Eight years ago, when my brother was diagnosed with glioblastoma, my mom remained by his side throughout his hospitalization. She took detailed notes at doctor’s appointments and immersed herself in learning everything she could about GBM, all while enduring the unimaginable pain of a mother watching her child suffer. Yet she never let it break her. Instead, she transformed her fear into strength and poured that strength into all of us.

Through all the years, she has never faltered. She has attended every doctors appointment and every MRI. When my brother started experiencing seizures and made the decision not to drive, she immediately stepped in and drove him to and from work each day. Beyond that, she continues to spend her days caring for her grandchildren and helping tirelessly with her children’s businesses.

Patricia is unwavering in her dedication to her family. She is strong, compassionate, and her determination to support her family is unmatched. It is only fitting that she be considered for the Legacy of Love Award-because that is exactly what she has spent her life building: a legacy of love within our family
