Wanda Petersen was caretaker extraordinaire for her son Mitch Petersen, as he battled a glioblastoma that was diagnosed while he was on a surfing vacation. Rushing to Portugal with her daughter to rescue him, she brought him back to her new home state, South Carolina. There, with the help of her sister, Aunt Sandy, and her daughter and son and law, both physicians, they made his life bearable and hope-filled. Wanda was a constant researcher and a faithful prayer warrior as they went through multiple treatments, including a clinical trial in Germany. In addition to hoping to find a cure, Wanda hoped that Mitch would find commitment to being a believer. While his battle with cancer was lost, Mitch accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. This was the work of God, as it helped Mitch enjoy the last of his living days filled with Joy. Wanda was critical as a mom in giving her son birth, and saving his life as she lead him to the Lord.
