Alex Duarte

Alex had a larger than life personality with a big smile and a contagious laugh. She was an amazing big sister, a member of the Girl Scouts, a dance student, and she played soccer. Alex dreamed of saving animals and finding them homes, over time she added becoming a vet to that dream; she had such a big heart for animals. She was so feisty and loving; she always made a lasting impression with so many people. Sadly, Alex was diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem glioma in September 2013. She fought hard every day, most of those days without complaints and still giving us smiles, laughs, and happy memories. Alex never let her diagnosis get her down, she stayed strong and positive through her fight and it seemed like she was the one providing the support at times. Alex pass away 1 year later in September 2014. During her time here she touched the hearts of so many people and to this day she still lives on through her family, friends, and supporters. We miss her terribly everyday and we know she will forever be with us and live on through us.
