Ben Salazar, Jr.

Ben Salazar Jr. was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force, he was an amazing father to two children, and his proudest role was to be PAPA to two wonderful granddaughters. My father’s friends would say that Ben never met a stranger and that is true. He would strike up a conversation standing in line at a grocery store and by the end of dinner at a restaurant – the waiter would know our entire life’s story. Dad would give you the shirt off his back and many don’t know that dad literally saved the lives of more than one person. He rescued one of his co-workers from a fire in the plant where they worked – he suffered major 3rd degree burns himself on his upper body and he saved someone from drowning when they fell off their float and couldn’t swim. He was a lot of things to a lot of people, to me he was my father, my confidant, and my best buddy.
