Brandon Knight

Brandon Wayne Knight, 41, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away November 15, 2020, at his home after a long illness. He was born on August 10, 1979, to Philip Wayne Knight and Kerrie Lynn (Lassen) Knight in Shreveport, La. Brandon grew up in Rich Hill, Mo., and Pittsburg, Kan., where he was a 1997 graduate of Pittsburg High School. Brandon earned his bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering from Pittsburg State University. He has worked for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group/Keurig Dr. Pepper since 2007. Brandon married Rachel Anne Hodgson on September 24, 2005, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Brandon loved sports. Although he could not participate for the past few years, he continued to watch sports, while instilling the values of athletics and teamwork to his kids. He was a passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks.

He most loved spending time with his family and friends and encouraging them through his witness. Those who knew him will always remember his smile and infectious laugh. He was a devoted member of First Methodist Carrollton in Carrollton. He traveled to Cambodia and Honduras to spread the word of God. He was an active supporter of Head For the Cure, which raises funds to support finding a cure for brain cancer and supporting those affected by brain cancer. He participated in the organization’s annual walks and was the inspiration for Team Knight.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel Knight; a son, Asher, a daughter, Banner, of Carrollton; his parents, Kerrie and Philip Knight of Neosho, Mo.; one brother, Jason Knight and his wife, Leah, two nephews and one niece, all of Centerton, Ark.; and a host of other loving family and friends.
