Chris Arneson

Our son, Chris, was a healthy and active 22 year old that was just starting out in life. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 22. He immediately had a surgical craniotomy to remove the tumor, went through radiation and chemotherapy. Chris did well for 5 years and then the tumor returned. Again, the tumor was removed. Yet, again, the tumor returned in 2019 and we sought help with the Brain Tumor Network and teamed us up with a study that was held at a hospital in Boston. Chris was accepted into the study, which a team of doctors injected the Herpes virus into his tumor. Unfortunately, Chris became paralyzed on his left side of his body after the surgery. We brought Chris back to Austin Texas and admitted him into a rehab facility. Chris started to decline and then would get better. We finally brought Chris home even though he was unable to walk or care for himself. My husband and I did everything we could to help him. Chris was so brave through all of his surgeries, doctor appointments, Mri’s, bloodwork, taking numerous medications, and rehab. He fought so hard every single day and dealt with ongoing migraines that became very debilitating. Chris suffered so much and it hurt to see him in pain. We think about Chris every single day, his infectious laugh, his beautiful smile, and his big heart. He always wanted to help others. He was a loyal brother to our daughter Madison and loved his grandparents dearly. Our hearts hurt so much that he is no longer with us but know he is in a better place, where he is no longer in pain. We yearn for the day that we can all be united. Until then, we will help and contribute to help fight this horrible disease called brain cancer. We miss and love you, Chris, so very much.
