Courtney Hagen

Courtney Hagen was a loving and humble wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her contagious smile and positive outlook touched everyone who knew her, including her patients in her work as a dental hygienist and the people she served in her volunteer work at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and she made everyone around her feel so loved. She loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends, and she was an avid Husker fan. She faced her diagnosis of brain cancer/spinal cancer and the treatments that followed with courage, grace, and faith in God. Throughout the journey, she maintained that “God is good,” and often quoted her favorite Bible verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Courtney is deeply loved and missed, but her memory lives on in her four children—her “babies”—who carry on their mom’s legacy of love for others and for God. Courtney’s friends and family will be honoring her memory this year by participating in the Omaha Head for the Cure 5K.
