Derek Poindexter

Derek Poindexter was an inspiration, unlike any other. Derek was a devout husband, father and friend. He truly is a hero! Derek battled brain cancer over a decade with multiple chemo treatments and multiple surgeries. Despite his situation, he always had a smile on his face and his message never wavered, “Make someone smile, give someone a hug and be awesome!” That is exactly who Derek was. He fought a good fight and he is now at rest! Derek’s humor, smiles and hugs were contagious. All who knew Derek are blessed to have known him, pay his message forward and never forget the joy of the time spent with him! Love you, pal! Till we meet again!
