Georgina Uriarte, 8/18/70 to 10/01/26, was vivacious, funny, caring and compassionate. The heart of her family, she radiated joy and friendship. Devoted to her three children and grandchild, she also built a business and worked in the medical field.
With hazel eyes and thick black curls, our “Gallinita”—little hen—was a beauty, but her warmth and lively spirit drew people to her like a magnet. A lifelong Chula Vista resident, she couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone she knew.
After her diagnosis, Georgina never asked, “Why me?” She chose to live in the present, determined to fight glioblastoma while refusing to let it overshadow her life.
A cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunty, niece and true friend, she leaves us with treasured memories and enduring love. We walk and run in her memory, supporting research and hope for other families. Cancer cannot erase the joy she gave us.
