Gerry Sloss

Gerry Sloss was a proud wife, Mother, Nanny and Old Nanny. Her 4 grandchildren were the light of her life. And she cherished the time with her 4 great grandchildren. Nothing stood in her way to make sure my sister and I got our education. She was the youngest girl out of 10 brothers and sisters, so she knew hardship and working hard to get what you want. Mom was the best baker! She thought nothing of churning out over 100 dozen cookies for each of her married grandchildren’s weddings. My sister and I used her same recipes and could not duplicate the taste! In February 2012 she broke her hip and told my daughter she would Polka at her June wedding. She did! October 2013 brought her the Glioblastoma diagnosis. Still not letting that stop her, she tried to live her normal life. Mom had so many colloquialisms, quotes, traditions, and superstitions, it made our head spin. We still quote some of them today! Thanks for the memories Mom!
