On September 27, 2021, at the age of 30, Kevin Shields lost his six-year battle with brain cancer. From the time of his diagnosis in 2015 until his passing, Kevin made the most of the extra time he was given, – finishing his Aerospace Engineering degree at UCF, working as the Information Technology Manager for Dnata Aviation Support Services, and spending time with family, friends, and his numerous cats. Kevin’s biggest asset was his friendly personality; he was always positive, smiling, and kind. Many people upon meeting him would comment about ‘what a nice guy’ he was – he was authentically nice and cared about the people around him. He is deeply missed by all who loved him. To quote Sesame Street, “We can all be very happy that we had a chance to be with him, and to know him, and to love him a lot when he was here.”
