December 2024 4 days before Christmas Lisa was told she had GBM. She didn’t need the ER doctor to say more as she already lost a sister to this. She said simply I will fight with everything you can give me. I will fight for my family and myself. And for the future possible cure. And she did fight radiation and chemo, speech therapy. She asked about treatments and genetic testing for hope of one day creating a cure. In April 2025 with what should have been a celebration of retirement she took her family to Hawaii to help create wonderful memories. As GBM went along she fought to be there for her grandson’s Nutcracker gumdrop dance. She cared about her siblings and loved their visits. Her calm and steady flame of determination has passed on to all who knew her.
