Luke was diagnosed with medulloblastoma on October 9, 2018 and passed on November 9, 2018. He suffered through surgery to have the tumor removed on October 10th at Cook’s Children’s Hospital. Went though physical therapy for weeks before going home on a Friday, only to return to the Hospital on Wednesday with extreme pain, nausea, vomiting. The Tumor was growing with a vengeance. Luke was intubated and sedated for a double dose of proton radiation to try to save him. It did not. He was extubated the following day and passed in his mother’s arms with family at the bedside. His mother has a web-page for him called “Super Luke” with her story and memories of our sweet boy.
He was passionate about dinosaurs and insisted he would open his own “Jurassic Park” one day. He said he just needed some amber and a mosquito. He also loved transformers and Minecraft. He was creative and loving and smart. Throughout his short one month battle with Large Cell Anaplastic Medulloblastoma (metastatic), despite his terrible pain and deficits from surgery, he never let it stop him from smiling and playing. He was amazingly strong.
