Our mother knew how to smile and laugh. At the end, despite her pain, she worried over her children, her husband and her friends — wanting everyone to be cherished and happy over herself. She was the sort of person who others gravitated towards, and her generosity was palpable. She loved unconditionally.

She left us too early, but we — like all those honoring their loved ones — will bring her alive through our actions, our love and our determination to beat this illness.
