Matthew Michael House was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on April 22, 1978 to Mike and Kathy House now of Sun City, AZ (previously Maple Plain, MN). He has one older sister, Angela House Burgess of Minneapolis, MN. He was married to Mary Gnemi House and they had three children together. Anthony, Ben and Lilly. Matthew was a good-natured with a constant grin on his face. He was a hard working family man and had a gentle & kind spirit. Matthew was very close with his cousins on both sides of the family. He always enjoyed spending time on the family family farm. His cousin, David Krull, introduced him to Mary Gnemi at the Steele County Fair in August 2001 and it was love at first sight. Matthew proposed to Mary on July 12, 2002 and they moved to Plano, Texas the next week for Mary’s teacher position at Brinker Elementary in Plano. Matthew worked for a year at Gulledge Elementary in Plano and then went back to college. They attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Plano 2002-2004 where Pastor Jeff was the Lead Pastor and who performed Matt’s adult baptism. Matthew attended Winona State University for 2 years and was in the Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. Later, after he moved to Texas, he graduated from University of North Texas with a major in accounting in December 2005. Matt married Mary on July 19, 2003 in Owatonna, MN. His favorite pastimes was spending time with his family, attending the children’s activities and golfing. He is the son-in-law of Rick and Deb Gnemi who will always cherish the love they shared with Matt. While living in Owatonna from December 2005 to March 2015 he was actively involved at Bethel Baptist Church. He worked as a CPA at Larson Allen in Owatonna from January 2006 to March 2011. He worked at Wenger Corporation in Owatonna as Manager of Finance from 2011 to 2015 . He served as plant finance controller at Watson and Chalin in McKinney, Texas from 2015 until the onset of his illness. Honorary pall bearers were his cousins Eric Watson, Aaron Watson, Jonathan Krull, David Krull, Taylor House, Karl Hovde, Kirk Hovde, Ole Hovde; and brother-in-law Ronnie Burgess. Matt was diagnosed with glioblastoma on October 8, 2016. Throughout his illness, regardless of how sick he may have felt, he was careful to express his appreciation to every person who served him, in any capacity. Matt will be remembered as a patient, loving, kind, good-humored, gracious, selfless, gentle, thoughtful, grateful and God-honoring man. He was a born again Christian, amazing husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother and friend. He is with his Lord and Savior.
