Peggy Gregory

Peggy lost her two year battle with glioblastoma in February 2022. She graduated from Friends University in 1973 with a degree in education and spent the next 40 years as an educator and coach at Cheney USD 268, Goddard USD 265, and Renwick USD 267. She later received her Master’s Degree in Technology Education from Kansas State University in 1999.

Young women’s advancement and opportunities in athletics was always a passion for her. She began coaching basketball in 1973 when Title IX was passed to allow young women to play sports in high school. Her coaching career continued in volleyball, basketball, and track until 2007.

Peggy was loved by her students, coworkers, and friends but will be the most missed by her family. A beloved mom and Nana, she always was excited to cook, travel, or shop with her children and grandchildren.
