Who is Sandra Lee Butler…There simply is not enough time or tissue to even begin to explain. She can not be summed up in a verse or even a novel. She is your neighbor, your co-worker, your friend. She is your sister, your mother, your daughter, your aunt, your Gigi and your beloved wife. She was ours…and she was everyone’s that she touched, inspired, and amazed with that grace, that hope and that unwavering faith that only grew stronger as her body grew weaker. By her example she taught us all to live in the moment, don’t sweat the small stuff, never ever give up, give in or lose faith. When the cancer pushed her she pushed back harder, never backing down. Sandy lived in love and grace till the moment she took her last breath and floated gently into the arms of the one she trusted most. She is our angel now. And while that beast called cancer took her from us too soon, she fought like no warrior I’ve ever seen, leaving a mark on this world that is unexplainable. And true, the void is unbearable, but our determination to continue this fight is unstoppable! We fight now to honor her and all those that have gone before her and to give hope to all those fighting in the trenches right now. We will keep fighting until the day comes that those beautiful words are spoken…that never again does this monster get to steal our loved ones from us! Our hearts have been broken but not our sprits, not our determination. We will continue what my sister started. We were and still are her WARRIORS! We will not stop, we are a force to be reckoned with! We will fight on until we hear those glorious words that someday soon WILL be spoken. We have found a cure!! Then and only then can we consider rest. We are ALL bound by the same call and we will continue to answer it until no family has to endure the pain and heartbreak we and too many others have faced. We are stronger than this disease because we say so! Never EVER lose hope…and LOVE will always win!
