On August 4, 2015 Scott passed away. Sometimes people say that Scott lost his battle with cancer but this couldn’t be less true. I think Stuart Scott from ESPN said it best during his 2014 ESPYs speech when he said, “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.” Scott’s attitude throughout his battle with cancer that everything was Better Than Dying.
