Therese Sliwinski was diagnosed with a brain tumor in early November 2017. After a full resection of the tumor, it was discovered that she had Gliosarcoma and that there were 4 more inoperable tumors in her brain. She fought incredibly hard through the pain from October 2017 until she passed on Christmas Day 2017, a day before she was to start treatment.
Therese will be remembered for her kind heart, as someone that would make extra food or buy extra groceries and find a homeless person to share it with. She believed all women should have equal access to quality feminine products and was in the beginning stages of starting a nonprofit to supply them to women in need in the Detroit area just before her diagnosis.
One of the only things she wanted from life was to start a family with her husband. While they tried for some time, it was not meant to be. However, the impact that she had on her family, friends and strangers showed unconditional love and understanding which proves she would have undoubtedly been an incredible mother.
The world is a different place without you. We love and miss you every day and we will not stop until there is a cure.
