My Brother Tom was one the smartest people I’ve ever known. He was kind and gentle. He was sarcastic and loved puns. He was a beautiful piano player and sang beautifully. His Glio was found by chance after he suffered a compound fx of his ankle. He became confused on his long trip home from Greece where he broke his ankle so they did a CT scan of his head and found the tumor. My brother struggled so much in his life. He was born with a defective tricuspid heart valve and his first surgery at age 4. He had an artificial heart valve placed when he was in his 40s.
Shortly after that he developed Parkinsons. He had an enormous faith in God. He loved classical music. On the day he died, and he hadn’t been responsive for a while, my cousin visited and played him some classical music that she loved. As we all sat around him he suddenly brought both hands up in front of him and began moving his fingers and hands and was playing the piano. It was absolutely beautiful and a treasured memory.
