Zy’Kierah Aunya Sumter “Zy” On January 29th, 2019, Zy’Kierah was diagnosed with a Diffuse Midline Glioma H3 K27m Mutant cancerous brain tumor. She underwent several surgeries, countless rounds of radiation & chemo. After what seemed like years of fighting, God said that her body has had enough. Looking back, it was only a 1yr, 7mos & 12 days. Early afternoon of September 10th, 2020 our sweet girl was called home to be with our Lord Jesus. Zy was an incredibly happy child and completely full of life. She loved to do hair, talk on the phone, and spend time with her family and friends, but most of all she loved children. She had a smile that would brighten up any room and the personality to match. Zy’Kierah will forever be 20 to us. She just celebrated her 20th birthday 2wks before she was called home. Zy graduated from South Florence High School in 2018. Zy’Kierah was our oldest child, our #1 girl, our baby. Zy’Kierah was a daddy’s girl, I knew she loved me, so I was okay with that. She had her father wrapped around her pinky. When she felt like things was not going her way she would say “I’m sick of it” we would laugh it off & move on. We miss her so much, that smile, her voice, her smell, her laugh but we know God loved her more. From the beginning of her diagnosis Zy was a warrior, she fought with her head held high & kept that same bright smile on her face. Fighting this battle, she never once complained. She knew she had the Lord on her side. Zy’Kierah’s precious memories will live on through her wonderful parents Yarnell and Ernestine Sumter, her two sisters Aniyah & Yazmin Sumter & a host of family & friends.
