“Over the past 15 years, the Head for the Cure Foundation has built a strong and sustaining partnership with Solace House. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising awareness and research funding for late-stage brain cancer — an under-funded, and often deadly form of cancer.

Head for the Cure started in Kansas City in 2003, to honor the life and legacy of Chris Anthony. Chris wife Kirsten, and children Cole and Caroline, found comfort from Solace House following Chris’ death. Since the first HFTC Kansas City 5k event in 2003, Head for the Cure has provided grant funding to Solace House every year — totaling over $100,000.

The Head for the Cure Foundation has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, now holding events in 22 cities across the US.  We are proud of our association with Solace House and Kansas City Hospice, and look forward to a long and productive partnership.

We invite all friends and supporters of Kansas City Hospice/Solace House to join us on Sunday, August 27th, at Corporate Woods for the 15th annual Head for the Cure 5k – Metro Kansas City event!”

About Head for the Cure
Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising hope, awareness and funding in the fight against brain cancer. Our 5K events are not only successful fundraisers, but unique tributes to those who are fighting brain cancer and those who have lost their battles. Their memories carry on through the teams that are formed around them, and these teams return year after year to celebrate their legacies.

In pursuit of a cure
